On 9 July the Anglo-Americans landed in Sicily, which through a series of events led to the Cassibile armistice in September. While this issue of Domenica del Corriere comes out on newsstands, the meeting of the Grand Council of Fascism takes place in Rome which sanctions the distrust of Benito Mussolini and the fall of fascism; what are now called "the enemies" will soon be the new allies of Italy.
