caption: Ghitta CARELL (20 September 1899 - 18 January 1972), portrait of a woman veiled in white with an infant; the small, in profile, wrapped in the mother's embrace, supports the hand stretched out against that of the mother, providing the spiritual image of the clasped hands. Photographer Hungarian naturalized Italian, born in Szatmar by Israeli parents, Carell moved very young to Florence (1924) where he began the profession of photographer. Subsequently, in Rome, she was the official photographer of the royals of Italy and the author of the most appreciated portraits of the eminent personalities of the regime. In the years after the war he continued to make portraits of the characters of Roman culture, politics, nobility and bourgeoisie. Photography, Italy, circa 1935
