The twenty-one girl was found dead on April 11, 1953 on the beach of Torvaianica, near Rome. She had disappeared from home on April 9 last year. The death under mysterious circumstances and at first attributed to an accident, was later charged with murder. This was a case of crime that had major media because of the involvement of many leading political figures in the investigation subsequent to the crime. The case is still unsolved.
