caption: Guglielmo MASSAJA (born Lorenzo Antonio Massaia, 8 June 1809 – 6 August 1889) Missionary, depicted continuing to catechize despite his chains. Servant of God, missionary and explorer, he lived for about thirty-five years in Ethiopia, where he combined intense apostolic activity with the study of the local language and customs. Author of ''My thirty-five years of mission in Upper Ethiopia'', a work that is still fundamental today for knowledge of that country. He belonged to the Capuchin Order. Popular press of the Missions, Italy 19th century.
