A centuries-old tradition that draws inspiration from one of the structural characteristics of the city: being divided into two parts by the Arno River. Teams from the Northern part called ''Tramontana'' fight against teams from the part called ''Mezzogiorno''. The teams' task is to push a cart, placed on two tracks, positioned in the middle of the Ponte di Mezzo. The men of the two factions, facing each other in various challenges, try to push it as far as possible to the opposing side. Popular print, Italy 19th century.
