Photograph by Ando Gilardi (1921 - 2012) #andogilardi, from a series taken in support of the Commission of Inquiry into the Working Conditions of Olive Pickers in Calabria, established in November 1957 by CGIL trade unionists and association and parliamentary figures of various backgrounds. The series was later also used to illustrate several photo reports in "Lavoro," the union's weekly magazine. Italy, 1957.
