caption: GIULIAN REFUGEES 1947 detail of nine sheet elements of the commemorative stamp issued by the Italian Post Office for the "60th anniversary of the Borgata Giuliana di Fertilia, Alghero" (Sassari). Founded in 1936 after the reclamation of the swampy territory of the Nurra to accommodate the Ferrara emigrants, the colonization was interrupted by the war, and the village remained providentially available for the exiles of Istria and Dalmatia at the end of the conflict, when the Paris Peace Treaty of 1947 redistributed the sovereignty of the disputed territories with Yugoslavia. In the cartoon: the geographical maps of Sardinia and Venezia Giulia, a family of refugees, and a photographic view of the buildings in the rationalist style.
