The advertising container program, which aired on the RAI National Network from February 3, 1957 to January 1, 1978, provided for the transmission of short films offered by a sponsor followed by an advertising message; the content of the "shorts", which could not in themselves cite the product, could be of various kinds, from culture to comic gag, to animated story. Carousel was such a popular costume phenomenon that it went beyond the confines of the screen and into print, where ads fueled expectations for evening programming. Italy, 1969.
