''The Genoese dockworkers are fighting for democratic freedoms'', so we read in the flyers that the participants carry attached to their backs; the demonstration, also provocatively known as ''the march on Rome'' because it started by bicycle from Genoa to reach the capital, was organized for the defense of the ''companies'', a sort of union with a sickness and pension fund external to the service national: the government was about to outlaw them.
