caption: Ghitta CARELL (September 20, 1899 - January 18, 1972) Photographed Hungarian naturalized Italian, born in Szatmar from Israeli parents, she moved very young to Florence (1924) where she began the profession of photographer. Later in Rome he was the author of the most beautiful portraits of the personalities of his time. Rare and unusual instant self-portrait, not made on a glass plate as usual but with a hand-held 6x6 reflex camera. The Carell portrays itself informally (without makeup) reflected in the mirror door of a wardrobe. Italy, around 1940.
