Andrea Dandolo (1306 - 1354), 54th Doge from 4/1/1343 to 7/9/1354. Marin Faliero (1274 - 1355), 55th Doge from 16/9/1354 to 17/4/1355, when he was executed for treason; his portrait is replaced by a black cloth, as in the series of doge portraits in the hall of the Maggior Consiglio, for having conspired against the aristocratic government.
