caption: SAINT PHILOMENA (291 -304) Devotional image depicting the Holy Martyr lived at the time of the early Christian with the symbols of her martyrdom, scourge, arrows, anchor and lily. It is said that she emigrated Emperor Diocletian who, before his refusal (he had made a vow of chastity) made her martyred. The real existence of the saint is not proven but presumed by some relics and an inscription, discovered in 1802 in the catacombs of Priscilla. (Register: Lumena pax tecum fi).
