caption: Coat of Arms Imperial Austrian. Shield made up of 9 main parts, each quartered in turn. In the Grand Quarter, in the center, the coat of arms of the reigning House of Austria: the red lion on gold of Habsburg; the silver band on a red field; the band gules with 3 alerons argent on gold of the Dukes of Lorraine. Around the coats of arms of the imperial domains. The shield is adorned with the insignia of the Imperial Orders (the collar of the Golden Fleece surrounds it) and is placed in the heart of the crowned black double-headed eagle, holding in its talons on the right the scepter and sword, on the left the globe, symbols of the imperial and military power of the Habsburgs. At the top the Imperial crown, supported by two split griffins of black and gold. From ''Teatro Araldico, or General Collection of Arms and Insignia Gentilizia of the most illustrious and Noble Houses that once existed and that still flourish throughout Italy, illustrated with relative genealogical-historical notions by Leone Tettoni (1816 - 1877) and Francesco Saladini (1808 - 1840)''.
