It is said that a real dome would have been too expensive to build and that in any case it would have darkened the houses in the neighborhood too much. The other, more complex fresco is ''Glory of Sant'Ignazio''; the Italian painter and set designer, known for his taste for the illusory definition of space, finds in these two works a complete realization.
