Advertising poster for the regulation "Balilla" rifle, commissioned by the Opera Nazionale Balilla (a youth institution founded by fascist Renato Ricci) for pre-military training of children. The boy, armed with the "reduced model 1891" and wearing uniform, projects the shadow of the future soldier he would become.
