caption: MARIAN APPARITION On 19 September 1846 the Virgin Mary manifested herself to two French shepherd children of 15 and 11 years old: Mélanie Calvat (7 November 1831 - 14 December 1904) and Maximin Giraud (26 August 1835 - 1 March 1875), entrusting them with a message a warning for the impiety and sins of men and forgiveness for those who had converted and done penance, to bring to all humanity. "Come my children, do not be afraid. I am here to tell you the Good News". Then he communicated a secret to each of them and disappeared into Heaven. Monsignor Joseph Henry, Bishop of Grenoble, granted the faithful 40 days of indulgence for the recitation of the invocation "Our Lady of La Salette, reconciler of sinners, pray relentlessly for us who have resorted to you".
